McDonald's Tastes Of America hits week 2, introducing the Dallas BBQ as the offering for the next seven days.
The first thing to note about this burger is that (please brace yourself) there is no cheese. I know, I know, I was skeptical too. However, this burger does have dry cured, premium back bacon (and plenty of it....it was thick cut), BBQ sauce, Mayo, lettuce and red onions. I opted for my burger without the onions because I'm not keen on raw onions.
The combination of the sauces worked really well together, with the sweet flavour of the BBQ sauce being the main note - not a hugely smoky sauce.
The flavour of the bacon was absolutely excellent. Salty, smoky and strong. There were two pieces in there and it was thick cut, so this was really the star of the show.
The lettuce and beef - same old story, I enjoy them (well...obviously....I love beef...it's the main element of a burger) but all in all, even without the cheese, I thoroughly enjoyed the burger. I rate it a solid five stars.
