Lidl Praline Danish Review | Website Exclusive

Lidl have got a fantastic fresh bakery section. One of their newest additions (as of time of writing at least) is the Praline Danish, as pictured above. It looks a bit like a pain au chocolat, but on top are caramelised almonds and clusters of crispy chocolate.

Bit into the middle and it reveals what can only be compared to God-Nectar. It's a crunchy (in a really nice, caramelised hazelnut sense) chocolatey, hazelnut filling. Kind of similar to Nutella but richer.

The texture is also amazing, its smooth, velvety but with crunchy bits too. The varied texture of the top is also a treat, and the pastry itself is reminiscent of a high quality pain au chocolat.

This really is a superb product, tastes very indulgent and I would give it five stars.

Get down to your nearest Lidl Bakery and try one. They are 59p.

Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Review (Lidl Bakery)

I am lucky in that my local Lidl contains a bakery section.

We've started shopping there permanently now, for our weekly shop - we have been there about three or four times and one thing I've noticed is that there is always someone checking the shelves at the bakery and seeing what needs to be filled up.

These particular cookies are milk chocolate and dark chocolate, and they are 35p, or four for £1.

Considering the price, these cookies are absolutely excellent. There is a nice cookie-type flavour, slight vanilla dough. It is quite a well cooked cookie so it tastes highly baked. The texture is crispy around the edge and soft and slightly chewy in the middle.

Really good, highly recommended. Check out the video.
